Syria's prime minister has declared a new phase in the country's history

A new stage has begun in the history of Syria. This statement was made on December 8 by Prime Minister of the SAR Mohammed Ghazi al-Jalali in a telephone address to Al-Arabiya TV channel.
"We announce today the end of this dark period and the beginning of a new era for Syria," the prime minister said.
He also said he was ready to cooperate with any leadership chosen by the people after militants announced the "fall" of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's government.
The publication notes that the leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (a terrorist organization banned in Russia), Abu Mohammed al-Jolani, ordered troops not to approach official institutions in Damascus, saying they would remain under the prime minister until they were officially handed over.
On Sunday morning, media reported that the Syrian president had left Damascus. Later it was reported that Syrian terrorist formations took control of Seydnaya prison in the suburbs of Damascus and released all prisoners. Meanwhile, al-Jalali said that most of the Syrian government ministers remain in Damascus. He also noted that he had no information about Assad's whereabouts.
On November 29, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi called the activation of terrorists part of the US plan against the backdrop of Israel's defeat in Lebanon. At the same time, the White House denied its involvement in the events.
In turn, Britain, the United States, France and Germany called on all parties in Syria to de-escalate, and Russian Ambassador to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that Russia strongly condemns the terrorists' outburst. In addition, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the Doha Forum on December 7 that it was unacceptable to allow terrorists to seize land in Syria.
