Overnight air defense systems destroyed 46 Ukrainian UAVs over five Russian regions

Air defense forces have destroyed 46 Ukrainian drones over five Russian regions. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 8.

"On-duty air defense means intercepted and destroyed 46 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles. 17 UAVs were destroyed over the territory of Belgorod region, 12 were destroyed over the territory of Kursk region, six UAVs - over the territory of Voronezh region, seven UAVs - over the territory of Rostov region and four - over the territory of Astrakhan region," the Russian Defense Ministry's Telegram channel said in a statement.

It is specified that the attacks were carried out by airplane-type UAVs.

Earlier in the day, acting governor of the region Yuri Slyusar reported the destruction of two UAVs over the region. He indicated that there were no casualties as a result of the incident.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
