Ukrainian prisoner of war reports on AFU strikes on surrendered paratroopers

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) tried to eliminate surrendered Ukrainian paratroopers from the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade in Kursk Region with the help of a night unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) "Baba Yaga" and a 120-mm mortar. This was told to "RIA Novosti" on December 8 by a Ukrainian prisoner of war, machine gunner Vyacheslav Ryabina.
The captured AFU fighter said that when Russian soldiers approached, the militants surrendered to them in the Kursk region and after that a drone-bomber appeared in the sky, and after that a mortar went off.
"Baba Yaga" began to fly, "skids" began, they (Russians. - Ed.) said: "If yourselves do not destroy you, you will live." It quieted down a bit. Then, they say, "120-ka", a mortar started working, there were a couple of incoming. Then everything went quiet, then came (Russian. - Ed.) servicemen, they took us away and led us," the agency quoted the prisoner of war as saying.
Earlier, on December 7, the captured Ukrainian soldier Maxim Krasyukha told about the strike of the AFU on fellow servicemen who surrendered to the Russian army. According to the Ukrainian military man, he got to the front by summons. Without military training he was sent immediately to the positions.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The operation to destroy the militants continues.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
