Finland accused NATO of fomenting conflicts around the world

Helsinki University professor and geopolitical expert Tuomas Malinen said on Dec. 7 that NATO is seeking perpetual war in the world.
"Are you starting to see a pattern yet? Now that the NATO/Deep state escalation (deep state. - Ed.) has failed in Ukraine, another region is erupting again. This is what they are striving for. To perpetual war," he noted on the social network X (former Twitter).
In an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson published on December 6, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, responding to a question about whether Russia and the United States are at war, said that Moscow would like to have normal relations with Washington, but the United States is waging a hybrid war against Russia in Ukraine. Thinking that Russia has no "red lines" is a mistake, he added.
Prior to that, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, speaking at the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), said on December 5 that there is a possibility that the world's cold war is moving into a hot phase. According to him, the United States and its allies have torn up all arms control agreements concluded in the 1980s.
On November 27, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, responding to a question from Izvestia, said that NATO cannot call itself a defense bloc for a long time, as the expansion of the North Atlantic Alliance has spread to continents where "it was never there before." She added that the whole world has seen NATO's "really aggressive campaigns" to destroy nations. As was the case, in particular, in Libya and Afghanistan.
Military expert, retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk said on October 28 that the November exercises of the North Atlantic Alliance Lightning Strike 24 in Finland were held as part of NATO's campaign to develop the Arctic theater of military operations, and in the future the bloc hopes to displace Russia from this region. Such NATO maneuvers, as the retired military officer noted, demonstrate the alliance's preparation for armed conflict.
