An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 was recorded in Kamchatka. This was reported on Sunday, December 8, in the Kamchatka branch of the Federal Research Center "Unified Geophysical Survey of the Russian Academy of Sciences".

It is specified that the origin of the earthquake was at a depth of 23 km, 113 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Information on the damage and victims is unknown, the threat of a tsunami was not announced.

Earlier, on November 24, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.3 occurred in the waters of Sochi. The depth reached 5 km, the epicenter is located in the sea at a distance of 7 km south-west of the city of Sochi.
