A light show dedicated to poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin was held on Palace Square in St. Petersburg on Saturday, December 7. "Izvestia" showed footage of the event.

Spectators could look at light paintings about the life and work of Alexander Pushkin, displayed on the facades of buildings. Literary heroes were voiced by actors Nikolai Burov, Anna Geller and Andrei Levin.

On Sunday, December 8, the light performance will be repeated from 19:00 to 23:00.

Earlier, on October 25, it was reported that Alexander Pushkin and Maria-Madeleine Durnovo-Pushkin came to St. Petersburg, where they visited the apartment-museum of the Russian poet. The descendants of the classic, who live in Belgium, said that when visiting the memorial museum-apartment they felt at home. They also visited Moscow and donated to the Russian State Library a photograph, which was taken in 1937 in Paris, when the centenary of the poet's death was celebrated there.

Before that, on June 6, Izvestia correspondent visited his 82-year-old great-grandson on the eve of Pushkin's 225th anniversary. Then the direct descendant of the poet said that during his visit to Russia he met a large number of people who respect the work of the Russian classic and do not forget about him.
