The White House recognized the ineffectiveness of Abrams tanks in Ukraine

The US Abrams tanks that were handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) turned out to be not the most useful equipment on the battlefield. This was reported by the national security adviser to the current President Jake Sullivan.
"We sent Abrams tanks to Ukraine. Those Abrams tanks are actually understaffed, because it's not the most useful piece of equipment for them in combat," he said during a speech at a forum on national defense in California, broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Ronald Reagan Institute.
According to him, this assessment converges with that of the U.S. military.
Earlier, on December 3, the Pentagon disclosed the composition of a new package of military aid to Ukraine for $725 million. Ukraine will receive more than 40 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) HIMARS with ammunition, howitzers for 155 and 105 mm, as well as shells of 105, 122, 130, 155 and 152 mm caliber. In addition, the aid package included 31 Abrams tanks, more than 300 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), Stryker and M113 armored personnel carriers, and miscellaneous vehicles, trucks, and ammunition for the tanks. Also 20 Mi-17 helicopters, UAV models Phoenix Ghost, Hornet, Scan Eagle, Puma, Jump-20 and Vampire, more than 10,000 Javelin anti-tank systems, anti-tank mines, communications and field equipment.
On December 2, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced the allocation of a new $725m military aid package for Ukraine.
On November 28, it was reported that the administration of incumbent US President Joe Biden was developing a new $725m aid package for Ukraine, within the framework of which it planned to provide various anti-tank weapons from the US stockpile.
At the same time, the first deputy head of the Federation Council's international affairs committee, Vladimir Dzhabarov, said that the delivery of the new aid package to Ukraine would lead to an increase in escalation.
Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Kiev amid Russia's special operation to protect Donbas, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on 24 February 2022 after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
