The White House assessed the transition of power between the Biden and Trump teams

The process of transfer of power between the teams of the current American leader Joe Biden and the elected US President Donald Trump is proceeding professionally and substantively. This was stated on December 7 by Jake Sullivan, national security adviser to the incumbent head of state.

"Coordination between the incoming and outgoing [administrations] is going professionally, substantively and, frankly, well," he said when asked how the process was going during a speech at a national defense forum in the state of California.

However, Sullivan added that despite the positive assessment of the transition of power between the two teams, the positions of the parties sometimes do not coincide. He also noted that the "task on behalf of the American people" is "to ensure a smooth transition" and they "intend to fulfill that responsibility as tirelessly and faithfully as possible."

Earlier, on Nov. 25, the White House confirmed the presence of Joe Biden and First Lady Jill at Donald Trump's inauguration in January.

Prior to that, on Nov. 13, Trump arrived at the White House for a power transition meeting with Biden. The politicians met in the Oval Office where they discussed foreign and domestic policy.

On Nov. 6, Biden called Trump and congratulated him on his election to the presidency. In the conversation, the incumbent head of state invited the Republican to a meeting at the White House and promised a smooth transition of power.

The election of the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the votes, while the candidate from the Democrats Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world. The Republican promised that his rule would be a "truly golden era" in the history of the United States.
