Law enforcers raid a closed LGBT party in St. Petersburg

Law enforcement officers raided a closed LGBT party (the LGBT movement is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) in the art space "Yavlenie" in St. Petersburg. A source told Izvestia on December 7.

The event called "Circles of Freedom - Ball" was attended by several dozen people. Law enforcers staged a raid to check the legality of the event, as well as to establish the age of the visitors.

The Izvestiya source also reported that among the detainees was the son of a former deputy of St. Petersburg's parliament Boris Vishnevsky (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation).

The young man was taken to the police station, the question of initiating an administrative offense against him is under consideration.

Earlier, on the night of December 7, law enforcement officers conducted raids in Moscow nightclubs Sisters and Bizarre. As a result of searches they found banned substances in the possession of one of the visitors, who reported that there might be visitors of non-traditional orientation in the club (the LGBT movement is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).

On November 30, law enforcement agencies raided the clubs Mono, Arma (formerly Mutabor) and Inferno in Moscow. According to Viktoria, a visitor of one of the clubs, during the performances one could hear statements against the special military operation from the stage.
