Russia will open an embassy in the Dominican Republic in 2025

The Russian embassy in the Dominican Republic will open in 2025. The country's ambassador to Russia Ramon Alejandro Arias Zarzuela told TASS on December 7.
"Yes, according to our data, the embassy will open in 2025. But now it depends on the Russian side, we don't have a more precise date yet," he said.
Zarzuela pointed out that the Russian side will need to resolve a number of technical issues, but when Dominican diplomats are notified of the exact date, they "will be happy to create the most comfortable conditions possible."
At the moment, there is only a branch of the embassy in the Dominican Republic, while the nearest diplomatic mission is in Venezuela.
Earlier, on September 7, the head of the Russian government, Mikhail Mishustin, signed an order to establish a Russian embassy in the Dominican Republic at the suggestion of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The embassy will be located in the city of Santo Domingo - the capital of the Dominican Republic.
On September 3 , representatives of Angola, the Philippines, and the Dominican Republic pointed to friendly relations with the Russian Federation during the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2024). In particular, Angola's Ambassador to Russia Augusto da Silva Cunha noted that the country's main lines of cooperation with Russia are higher education and space exploration.
