- Victory Bloc advocated the resignation of the Moldovan government because of the energy crisis

The opposition Victory bloc has said that the Moldovan government headed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean should resign because of the crisis in the energy sector. This was stated by Vasili Bolia, a member of parliament from the political force, in his Telegram channel on December 7.
"Because of their incompetence, citizens will pay higher rates for electricity this winter, with no guarantees that they will not have to spend even more money in the future. The lack of predictability, economic chaos and the authorities' inability to make responsible decisions have forced hundreds of thousands of Moldovans to leave their country," Bolia said.
He said that Moldova deserves a leadership that will solve crises and normalize the situation in the country. The MP also suggested that the government has lost the trust of the people and has long ago lost control over the situation.
On December 6, an economic state of emergency was declared in Transnistria due to the current difficult situation in the energy sector.
Before that, on November 22, Moldovan Energy Minister Victor Parlicov said that Transnistria could face energy difficulties from January 1 if Russia's Gazprom stops supplying gas. The energy minister said that the country needs the help of foreign partners, but these include neither Brussels nor Washington, which will not finance the Transnistrian region.
Then, on November 26, Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebryan said that a possible cessation of gas supplies to Transnistria by the Russian Federation after stopping the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine would turn into a humanitarian catastrophe. According to him, any state should avoid such a situation.
On September 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a plenary session of the 9th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2024) in Vladivostok that Russia was not giving up gas transit through Ukraine. Gazprom, according to Putin, plans to fulfill all its obligations under long-term contracts.
On 27 August, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose powers expired on 20 May, said that Ukraine was not going to prolong the agreement with Gazprom for the transit of Russian gas, which will expire at the end of 2024.
