Lavrov noted the importance of normalizing relations between Syria and Turkey

Normalization of relations between Syria and Turkey is necessary, Russia will do everything possible to assist in this matter. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said this on December 7 at the XXII Doha Forum, which is being held on December 7-8 in the Qatari capital.

"We discussed in the Astana format <...> the normalization of relations between Turkey and Damascus. And there are some ideas that we would like to turn into reality. <...> But I have no doubt that relations between Syria and Turkey should be normalized. And we will do our best to help," he said.

The foreign minister noted that there are already ideas on how to ensure the unity of Syria's territories and the security of its borders.
