"Police Academy" movie franchise creator Paul Maslansky has died at the age of 92

American producer, screenwriter and actor Paul Maslansky, who created the movie franchise "Police Academy", died at the age of 91 in California. The Hollywood Reporter reported the news on December 6.

"Maslansky died Monday [Dec. 2] of natural causes at a hospital in Los Robles, California, his partner Sally Maslansky, with whom he shared a 16-year relationship, told The Hollywood Reporter," the publication reported.

Paul Maslansky was born in 1933 in New York City. He graduated from Washington and Lee University in Lexington in 1954.

Maslansky is the producer of the Soviet-American film "Bluebird," shot in the Soviet Union and released in 1976. He was also involved in the production of the movie "Russian House" starring Sean Connery and Michelle Pfeiffer.
