The RNC may restrict the work of foreign hosting providers in Russia

Roskomnadzor (RNA) may restrict the work of foreign hosting providers in Russia for non-compliance with Russian laws. This was reported in the press service of the agency on December 7.

It is noted that on the server of foreign providers information is not protected from unauthorized access, which threatens the confidentiality of user data.

Law No. 406-FZ requires hosting providers to apply for inclusion in the register, but a number of companies such as Kamatera, Network Solutions, Ionos, HostGator, DigitalOcean, including the popular Amazon Web Services and GoDaddy, did not fulfill the condition of the law.

"Taking into account the risks to which the resources hosted on the facilities of the above companies are exposed, the work of these hosting providers may be restricted in the territory of the Russian Federation - in this case, they will not be able to provide hosting services to Russian organizations," TASS reported, citing the press service of the agency.

Roskomnadzor advised to use those services that fully comply with Russian legislation and are included in the register of hosting providers.

Earlier, on December 6, the RKN refused to register one-third of the pages of bloggers-ten-thousand bloggers, where 13 thousand people were denied official registration due to incorrect data on the user's page.
