More than 700 thousand liters of smuggled fuel have been confiscated in Iran's Bandar Abbas, about 200 people have been detained. This was announced on Saturday, December 7, by the prosecutor of Hormozgan province Aref Akbari, as quoted by the Mizan newspaper.

It is noted that after observing through cameras the repeated refueling of dozens of trucks at the gas station of one of the coastal villages near the port of Bandar Abbas on the instructions of the court, a special investigation was launched, which eventually led to the identification of a large gang.

"It was possible to identify and arrest the leader of a large gang involved in fuel smuggling on the coast of Bandar Abbas," the report said.

According to Akbari, more than 200 people are the defendants in the case. The trial is at the stage of considering the charges.

Earlier, on May 17, Iranian police reported the detention of more than 250 people for "propagating Satanism," three of whom are citizens of European Union countries. Police detained 146 men and 115 women who were in an inappropriate and obscene manner and had Satanic emblems, signs and symbols on their clothes, faces and hair.
