The State Duma told about the procedure for receiving pensions in December and January

Member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs Svetlana Bessarab said on December 7 that some Russians may receive in December two pension payments at once - for the main month and January.

"Those citizens who are accustomed to receive their pensions in the early days, namely from the 3rd to the 8th of each month, due to the fact that in January these days are holidays, will receive their pensions in advance, already in December. That is, there will be a double payment - the pension will come both for December and January. They will receive the next payment in February", - she explained the order of payments in the next two months in an interview with "Lenta.ru".

According to her, those to whom the pension comes later, the funds will be accrued without changes in the schedule.

On the same day, the head of the Duma Committee on Social Policy Yaroslav Nilov (LDPR) said that the indexed pension will begin to pay working and non-working pensioners in December. According to the current legislation, payments should begin to arrive only on January 1, but because of the long holidays, the first payments for some pensioners shifted to December.

Earlier, on December 5, Bessarab reported that in 2025 all pensions in Russia will be indexed by 14.75%.

Prior to that, on December 1, David Adams, director of the professional legal group AID, lawyer, said that from 2025, Russian pensioners can expect positive changes in their financial support due to innovations in the pension system and the expansion of social benefits.
