The Moscow authorities have approved a plan to renew the rolling stock of urban transport until 2030. This was announced by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in his Telegram channel.

Among the main goals of the plan the mayor named, in particular, the transfer of about 2 thousand new cars to the Moscow subway by the end of 2030. As a result, the share of modern trains will exceed 90%. A total of 560 cars "Moscow-2024" will be delivered in the outgoing and next year, wrote Sobyanin.

In turn, on the Moscow Central Diameters it is planned to "finish the renewal of rolling stock on MCD-3 and MCD-4 by the end of next year," the mayor said. In addition, up to 2030 inclusive in Moscow will appear almost 3.9 thousand new electric buses. Also in the coming years the city will buy "about 100 modern low-floor streetcars in order to completely finish the renewal of the park", Sobyanin specified.

Renewal of the rolling stock of urban transport is a long-term program of the Moscow government, which has been in effect since 2010, it is noted in the message on the mos.ru portal. "The city places orders for the development of new models of rolling stock, which are subsequently purchased under life cycle contracts - is indicated in the material. - It means that manufacturers undertake obligations on repair and maintenance of technics for the period from 15 (for electric buses) to 30 years (for subway cars and streetcars)".
