In Tomsk, a man who threw five cats and a dog from the 11th floor was taken into custody. About it on Saturday, December 7, reported the UMVD of Russia in the Tomsk region in Telegram-channel.
"At the request of the investigator of the investigating officer of the SO of the OMVD of Russia for the Kirovsky district of the city of Tomsk, the court elected a measure of restraint in the form of detention," - stated in the message.
The official website notes that on December 3 in the front office of the OMVD of Russia in Kirovsky district of Tomsk received a report of animals thrown out of the window of an 11-storey building. The policemen interviewed the complainant and found that the owner of the apartment, temporarily absent from the city, instructed a neighboring couple to feed their pets.
"The spouse went into the room and saw the 22-year-old previously convicted acquaintance throwing something out the window. Participants in the incident ran outside, and near the entranceway there were animals lying on the ground," the agency said.
As a result of the incident, three of the five cats and one dog died, two more cats were sent to a veterinary clinic for treatment.
At the moment employees of the Department of Internal Affairs are finding out the circumstances of the incident. According to the results of the inspection, a procedural decision will be taken under Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Cruel treatment of animals").
Earlier, in Khimki near Moscow, a man stabbed his five-month-old puppy to death with a knife, from which the animal died in a veterinary clinic. The identity of the dog's owner has been established. A criminal case has been opened under part 1 of article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Cruel treatment of animals").
