Court extends house arrest for wife of ex-head of Dagestan's Sergokala district

The house arrest of the wife of the ex-head of Sergokala district of Dagestan Aishat Omarova was extended for two months. This was reported to "Izvestia" on Saturday, December 7, in the Sovetsky district court of Makhachkala.
"Sovetsky district court of Makhachkala extended the measure of restraint in the form of house arrest Aishat Omarova until February 8, 2025 inclusive", - stated in the message.
Earlier, on October 9, a source of Izvestia reported about the arrest of Omarov' s wife. Then it was specified that, according to the investigation, the suspect in 2014 fictitiously employed her relative as a clerk of the subordinate kindergarten, as a result of which she allowed the embezzlement of budget funds by embezzlement in the total amount of more than 121 thousand rubles. A criminal case under part 3 of article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Embezzlement") and part 1 of article 292 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Official forgery") was instituted against the woman.
Before that, on July 30, a criminal case on fraud was initiated against the former head of Sergokala district of Dagestan Magomed Omarov and his son. The former official was detained and arrested.
It is noted that in 2018, the ex-official, knowing that his son does not intend to engage in animal husbandry, produced and signed a letter of recommendation to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic for the participation of the latter in the competition to support beginning farmers. Thus, he facilitated his son in illegally obtaining a grant of Br2 million 970 thousand. One of the suspects forged documents, indicating the fictitious purchase of 95 cattle, while in fact no more than 50 cattle were bought for Br2 million 250 thousand. The son of the head of the district embezzled Br470 thousand and stole the proceeds from the sale of cattle.
