A magnitude 5.5 earthquake has struck Indonesia


An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 has been recorded off the coast of the northern part of the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. This was reported on December 6 in the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center(EMSC).
It is noted that the earthquake occurred at 20:14 Moscow time at 233 km northwest of the Indonesian city of Gorontalo. The epicenter was at a depth of 13 km.
There is no information on casualties and destruction.
Earlier, on November 25, an earthquake with magnitude 5.1 was recorded in the east of Kazakhstan, in Zhetysu region. The epicenter of shocks was located 21 km north-west of the city of Zharkent near the border with China. The origin lay at a depth of 46 km.
