The servicemen of the "West" group of forces destroyed 550 AFU fighters over the day
The servicemen of the "West" group of troops have destroyed 550 militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and 13 control points of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the zone of the special military operation (SMO) over the past 24 hours. This was reported by the head of the press center of the grouping Leonid Sharov on December 7.
"Over the day, the enemy's losses amounted to up to 550 fighters and 16 units of weapons, military and special equipment," TASS quoted him as saying.
As Sharov specified, the AFU lost two artillery systems, six mortar launchers, six pickup trucks and two ATVs, as well as 13 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) control points.
Sharov added that during the day the servicemen repelled seven attacks and thwarted four counterattacks by assault groups of three mechanized, airmobile, tank brigades, territorial defense units and the reconnaissance and strike battalion of the AFU.
In addition, with the support of artillery, heavy flame-throwing systems and aviation, the AFU units in the areas of Podliman, Petropavlovka, Zagryzovo, Krasnoye Liman, Boguslavka and Torskoe were defeated.
Sharov noted that Russian servicemen destroyed an FH70 howitzer and an American M119 gun in the course of counter-battery combat, and also uncovered and suppressed more than 100 enemy targets.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that FPV drone calculations of the tank unit of the tank unit of the "West" group of forces had destroyed living forces, dugouts and shelters of the AFU militants in the area of the special military operation.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
