- FPV drone units destroyed Ukrainian armed forces' hideouts and manpower in the special operation zone

FPV drone units of the tank unit of the Zapad group of forces have destroyed living forces, dugouts and shelters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) militants in the zone of the special military operation (SMO). This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 7.
"Our statistics are actually good. Every day we destroy Ukrainian militants <...> We directly destroy them with UAV drops, FPV-drones," - said the head of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) service with the call sign Likhoradka.
The calculations of FPV-drones received information that a large number of manpower and equipment of the AFU militants were spotted in one of the directions. After that they conducted reconnaissance to determine the exact coordinates of the targets and destroyed them.
UAV operators work in special virtual reality goggles, which help to better navigate while controlling the drone. This also helps in targeting enemy targets.
The Defense Ministry specified that Russian servicemen actively use FPV drones to hit positions of AFU militants. They daily hit several dozen different targets, including clusters of living forces. The drones are equipped with ammunition and sent towards the enemy. Depending on the task, different types of shells are installed on the UAVs.
In addition, Russian servicemen use UAVs for reconnaissance purposes. They help to identify enemy points and mark their exact coordinates from a safe place.
The ministry said that in case of breakdown, the drones go to a "service center" where they are flashed and missing parts are printed on printers. Due to the fact that the technicians perform their work very quickly, Russian servicemen always have an edge over the enemy in the air.
Earlier, on December 6, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the calculations of FPV attack drones of the Vostok group of troops destroyed a pickup truck and a live force of AFU militants in the SSO zone.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region.
