A boxing evening dedicated to the heroes of the Soviet Union was held in Moscow

In Moscow, the International Boxing Center in "Luzhniki" on December 6 held an Evening of boxing dedicated to the heroes of the Special Military Operation (SMO), during which the awarding of outstanding athletes took place. "Izvestia" showed footage of the event.

"The show of martial arts, as a rule, begins before the first gong. The mere appearance of athletes in the ring is already a colorful spectacle, though today they appear in public especially gracefully to the sounds of a symphony orchestra," noted Izvestia correspondent Eric Galyautdinov.

The evening included nine fights in different weight categories. Before the start of the competition, the governor of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo said a welcoming word.

Armen Sarkisyan, President of the Boxing Federation of the DNR, drew attention to the fact that this event should strengthen the Russian spirit in the hearts of Russian youth, as well as emphasize the heroism of the guys who today, risking their lives, defend Russia. He expressed hope that these competitions would become annual events.

The correspondent also reported that one of the athletes after the victory said that he now wants to defend the homeland, immediately after which he signed a contract right on the stage.

It is noted that the special guests of the evening were Russian author and performer SHAMAN (Yaroslav Dronov) and patriotic band "mk5.45" accompanied by the Moscow City Symphony Orchestra.

Earlier, on December 3, the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation presented awards to the families of veterans of the special military operation. Thus, the nomination "Defense of the Fatherland is a family affair" was awarded to the participants and veterans of the Special Military Operation from the large Lesov family of many children from the Kemerovo region. Five children of the family are cadre military personnel, one of the sons is currently undergoing treatment after participation in combat operations. One of the sons died on the front line. In addition, the nomination "Military Dynasty" was awarded to the Sushkeev family from the Republic of Buryatia. Their family consists of hereditary cadre servicemen. The head of the family served 10.5 years in the Guards Airborne Assault Brigade before the SSO, and is a participant of combat operations in Chechnya and Syria.
