In the south-west of England and in some areas of Wales, about 3 million people received phone SMS-alerts that the storm "Darrah" is approaching. This was reported by the British broadcaster BBC on December 6.

It is specified that earlier the meteorological Bureau of Great Britain announced the highest, "red" level of threat. This color is used only in cases where there is a real threat to human lives. The speed of wind gusts can reach 144 km / h. In the danger zone are residents of coastal areas of Wales, the Bristol Channel and the western areas of Bristol and Cardiff.
The meteorological bureau also said about possible power cuts and power outages in areas affected by the storm.
Earlier, on November 27, because of the storm "Conall" in the south of the UK, the work of the transport system was stopped. Also, the meteorological bureau of the kingdom warned of delays on roads and possible power outages.
