On December 7, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen in the zone of the special military operation (SMO).

The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the actions of Major Denis Fedyunin, who carried out tasks to provide qualified medical assistance to Russian servicemen both on the line of contact and in rear areas. He was repeatedly forced to travel to the sites of active combat operations to assist his comrades and evacuate the wounded.

In the course of his tasks to evacuate Russian fighters, Fedyunin managed to evacuate more than 30 servicemen from an area that was being shelled by Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) artillerymen using a Ural vehicle. He personally shot off the AFU unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that were chasing the vehicle. He managed to shoot down two drones.

Thanks to Fedyunin's selfless actions, it was possible to remove more than 30 Russian servicemen from the shelling zone and provide them with all the necessary medical care.

The agency also noted the actions of Junior Lieutenant Dmitry Leonov, who together with his group performed the task of conducting an engineering reconnaissance of the route of the attacking aircraft.

The fighters managed to detect mine-explosive barriers set up by the AFU militants. The group immediately began to neutralize them. In the course of demining, the Russian servicemen came under enemy mortar fire, but continued to carry out the task.

Leonov managed to personally neutralize 12 enemy mines. Thanks to his actions, the Russian attack aircraft managed to pass along this route without losses and occupy an important AFU stronghold.

Earlier, on December 6, it was reported that servicemen of the "North" group of forces destroyed an AFU armored fighting vehicle with enemy fighters in Kharkiv region. Soldiers of the reconnaissance unit detected the armored vehicle with the help of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
