Major League Soccer in the United States (MLS) on Friday, December 6, recognized Inter Miami and Argentina striker Lionel Messi as the most valuable player of the season.

"Lionel Messi is the Landon Donovan Major League Soccer 2024 MVP," the press office said in a post on social network X (formerly Twitter).

The Argentine was also named the greatest player of all time.

Earlier, on July 15, Messi won his 45th career trophy, updating the world record. Thus, he is ahead of the nearest pursuer by two titles. They are the Brazilian Dani Alves. He finished his professional career in 2023.
