A court has arrested in absentia a citizen of Ukraine Diana Butsko, who illegally crossed the border of the Russian Federation and filmed a report on the territory of Kursk Region. This was reported on December 6 in the press service of the judicial system of the region.
"The citizen of Ukraine, accused of illegally crossing the state border of the Russian Federation, the court elected a measure of restraint in the form of detention," - noted in the message.
According to the investigation, the Ukrainian with unidentified persons in August this year illegally crossed the state border of the Russian Federation on the transport of armed formations of Ukraine, after which filmed a report on the territory of Sujansky district of Kursk region.
As specified in the press service, Butsko is declared in the federal, interstate and international wanted list.
On December 4, the court chose a measure of restraint in absentia for German citizen Nicholas Connolly, who is accused of illegally crossing the state border of the Russian Federation to film the report.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on August 21 that every case of illegal entry of Western journalists into Russian territory is monitored. She reminded that foreign correspondents can visit the Russian Federation only if they receive accreditation from the ministry and a corresponding visa.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory are being liquidated.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
