By Monday, December 9, from 5 to 10 cm of snow may fall in Moscow. This was reported on December 6 by Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center.

According to him, winter has actually already arrived in the capital this week.

"Temperatures have dropped significantly. And from tomorrow the second attribute of winter will appear. The anticyclone, which determined the weather, begins to gradually withdraw to the east, the direction of air masses is changing, they will come from the southeast, and they are saturated with moisture. Therefore, today in the second half of the day there will be a little snow, but at night it will already snow," he said in a conversation with "Interfax".

According to him, we should also expect snow in Moscow on Saturday and Sunday. At the same time, Vilfand noted that the wet snow, which is forecast to fall on the last weekend day, will not melt.

"It is estimated that for Saturday and Sunday the snow height will be 5-10 cm. We can say that the snow will lie down for the winter," said the head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center.

Vilfand specified that on Saturday night the temperature in Moscow will drop to a maximum of -6 degrees Celsius, during the day it is predicted -1... -3 degrees Celsius. On Sunday night the temperature will drop to -1... -6 degrees, during the day it will range from 0 to -2 degrees.

Earlier, on November 29, Vilfand said that in December, temperatures above and around the norm are expected throughout Russia. In the European part of Russia, the amount of precipitation at the beginning of winter will be mostly around the norm, except for the south of the Central Federal District (Ryazan, Voronezh, Tula, Lipetsk, Tambov regions).
