The drone missile "Peklo" presented by Ukraine is not really an innovation, it is a modified version of another Ukrainian drone - "Palyanitsa". In addition, the manufacturer of "Peklo" lied about the speed of the device, exaggerating it almost twice. This opinion was shared by Maxim Kondratyev, founder of the training center of unmanned aviation, corresponding member of the Russian Engineering Academy, in a conversation with Izvestia on December 6.

Earlier in the day, the Ukrainian publication UNIAN reported that the Ukroboronprom concern presented the Peklo to the country's president Volodymyr Zelensky, whose powers expired in May, and Ukrainian army chief Oleksandr Syrskyy. It was noted that the drone can fly at a speed of 700 km / h, and the range is more than 700 kilometers. So, the development has already been handed over to the Ukrainian military, journalists said.

"Everything looks very beautiful for those who are unfamiliar with this subject. If you look carefully at the videos presented [on the Web], there is actually no novelty here. We take a closer look and see that this is "Palianitsa" in remix", - commented Kondratiev.

Thus, he explained, the difference is mainly only in the fact that "Palyanitsa" is launched from the ground, and "Peklo" - from under the wing of an airplane. The second difference is that the "new" drone has shorter wings and the jet engine is outside. Everything else remains the same, emphasized the interlocutor of the publication.

"No novelty is out of the question. If we're talking about the range they claim, 700 km, it's okay, it's equal to the characteristics of the "Palyanitsa". If we are talking about the speed of 700 km/h, Ukraine is definitely lying. The turbojet engine is the same, how can "Peklo" reach a higher speed than "Palyanitsa"? Palianitsa has an actual speed of 400-450 km/h. Where does 700 km/h come from? Of course, this is a lie," the expert summarized.

He also added that the footage of the Ukrainian development published on the web shows that the assembly of the apparatus was carried out artisanally - uneven joints are noticeable on the fuselage elements, the shooting was deliberately conducted in dim light to hide the details and prevent this big deception from being uncovered.

"This is a converted Palianica, there is no innovative cruise missile. They're being sly, they're calling it that, they're saying, 'A drone missile that will replace the cruise missile.' No, cruise missiles are cruise missiles, drones are drones. <...> "Palyanitsa" unlike cruise missiles has very limited characteristics in terms of speed, range and mass of the warhead. Therefore, a comparison with cruise missiles is out of the question," Kondratiev added.

Among other things, he said, it is impossible in principle to call these developments Ukrainian, since both the engine and the electronic stuffing are supplied to Kiev by NATO countries. Thus, the expert concluded, the infopod "was sucked out of the finger" by a shallow modification of the already existing jet drone "Palyanitsa".

Earlier, on September 11, it was reported that Lithuania had allocated €10 million to Ukraine for the production of the Palianitsa drone missile. It was emphasized that this "huge support will help Ukraine to defend itself effectively".

Also in September, experts said that "Palianytsya" was named after Ukrainian white bread with a characteristic notch. It was specified that this device for anti-aircraft systems is a typical target. In addition, it leaves a jet trail in the sky, which makes it an easy target for Russian air defenses.
