- "Kalinov Most" re-sang Lyube's song for the tribute "Lyube. 35. Everything starts again..."

The song "Don't ruin, men" became a landmark for the Lube band, and in the tribute album "Lube. 35. Everything Starts Again..." this composition was performed by the rock band Kalinov Most. Lube's lead singer Nikolai Rastorguev, poet Alexander Shaganov and Kalinov Most leader Dmitry Revyakin spoke on December 6 about the song's creation and its influence on the band.
"The song became popular because it got into "Christmas Meetings" - the most popular TV program. We sang 'Atas' and 'Don't ruin it, men.' We never thought about whether it was a hit or not, we could not have predicted such popularity", - shared Rastorguev.
He noted that if there was a special secret of creating hits, all songs would be popular, but there is no such universal recipe, so there is something magical in the transformation of the composition into a hit. Rastorguev said that composer Igor Matvienko added a hook to the chorus of the song "Don't ruin, men", which he really has the skill to invent.
Lube's lead singer recalls that the band woke up famous not immediately after appearing on the program: the band was already moving towards popularity, and "Christmas Meetings" simply accelerated the process. Rastorguev emphasized that "Lube" was not similar to the bands that sounded at that time, such as "Mirage" and "Tender May", and the contrast worked. The soloist noted that the album "Atas" was very successful and appeared in time, because from it many songs went to the people.
"With this song, you could say, everything began. It was recorded at the most powerful studio at that time in MDM. And after it was recorded, I heard from the guys at the studio, 'You wrote a really big song.' It really stood out," recalls Shaganov in turn.
The song "Don't Destroy, Men" is part of the band's debut album called "Atas", released in 1989. Shaganov pointed out that at that time serious changes were already beginning in the country, and there were no songs about little-known people on the Soviet stage yet. Similar plots could be found only in the writers who created on the village theme: Fyodor Abramov, Valentin Rasputin, Vasily Shukshin, Vladimir Soloukhin and some others. In addition, a completely new speech palette was introduced into the song. The poet shared the opinion that in those days such poems did not want to print, so Shaganov did not limit himself in techniques. Moreover, the main character of the song is close to him and most Russians, because they came out of the peasant class.
"When the first album of the group "Lyube" was first released, it seemed to us very integral, harmonious and original, and many songs from this album we remembered," said Revyakin.
He added that when the question arose what song to re-sing for the tribute, the musicians of Kalinov Most first chose another composition, but then changed their minds and stopped at "Don't ruin, men". Revyakin likes both the music and the lyrics in it, and Kalinov Most worked on the tribute with enthusiasm.
Tribute "Lyube. 35. Everything starts again..." - is a reinterpretation of the band's songs by other musicians in their signature style. The idea to record such an album appeared more than a year ago, and more than 50 performers and bands of different generations and genres took part in the work on it.
The album will open with the song "Taganskaya Station" performed by rock musician Garik Sukachev. The arrangement adds the sound of ska, saicobilly and surf styles and elements of gypsy folklore. Sukachev in a conversation with Izvestia on November 29 expressed his confidence that the new version of the song turned out to be stylish, fashionable and youthful.
