Russian brand Xcite cars may be adapted into cabs


"Avtozavod St. Petersburg" hopes that cars of the domestic brand Xcite will be in demand in cab fleets. The crossover X-Cross 7, designed as a car for taxi fleets, was presented by the automobile plant to the governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, the chairman of the city's zakzobraniya Alexander Belsky and members of the city government. This is stated in the company's report, which was received by Izvestia on December 6.
Ivan Mironov, general director of the automobile plant, expressed confidence that the plant's products will be in demand when the city's taxicabs decide to purchase cars, the report said.
The company noted that the government of St. Petersburg has launched a program to financially support the city's motor transport manufacturers and the sphere of transportation services. Under the program, representatives of the passenger and cargo cab market can attract preferential financing in the form of loans, the funds are provided for the purchase of a domestic car of St. Petersburg manufacturers for use in business.
According to the results of 2024 "Avtozavod St. Petersburg" will produce up to 20 thousand cars, also reported in the company. At the same time back in March, Governor Alexander Beglov said that "Avtozavod St. Petersburg" plans to produce up to 25 thousand cars under the Xcite brand by the end of this year.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that Avtozavod St. Petersburg, which previously produced Nissan cars, is not planning to launch new models under its Xcite brand next year.
November 14, "Avtozavod St. Petersburg" presented a crossover Xcite X-Cross 8, which became the second model of the brand. It is offered in three configurations. The most affordable front-wheel-drive version is estimated at 2.99 million rubles, in the maximum version the crossover costs 3.4 million rubles. Sales of Xcite X-Cross 7 started in Russia at the end of May.
