Russian boxer Kevin Johnson took a young fighter's course at the location of the Saturn special purpose unit of the Russian Federal Service for the Execution of Punishments (FSIN). As the athlete said in a conversation with Izvestia on December 5, such training should help him before his fight with four-time world sambo champion Vitaly Minakov, which will be held as part of the gala show "REN TV Fight Club. Super Series."

Johnson emphasized that while taking the course he realized who he was and what he was fighting for. He noted that in the special purpose department "Saturn" FSIN of Russia are real men.

"There are real trainings here. I liked it. It's the definition of masculinity. Shows who I am, what I fight for. It's a place for a real man, which is how I feel and experience myself," the athlete noted.

Johnson added that both in the ring and in the work of the FSIN officers, lives are on the line. However, if the fight in the ring lasts only 36 minutes, the work of the staff is much more dangerous. The boxer came to the conclusion that the people who trained him are 100% real men. Specialists shared with him the skills that will help him in the fight with Minakov.

"I will not run away. I will box and show him who is the master in the house," he concluded.

Prior to that, on December 1, Johnson said that his bout with Minakovov will be like a battle between a fighter jet and a tank. The boxer called his future opponent a war machine. Johnson also compared the upcoming fight to a chess game, emphasizing the importance of strategy, strength, speed, coordination and reaction.

Earlier, on November 29, Russian boxer Grigory Drozd said that the fight will be difficult for Minakov and he is confident in Johnson's victory. According to the athlete, Minakov is famous for his knockout punch, but for Johnson, who once fought for a world title, this fight may turn out to be an ordinary "walkover".

A massive boxing tournament as part of the gala show "REN TV Fight Club. Superseries" will be held on December 13 in the sports complex "Megasport". The main event of the evening will be a duel between MMA fighter Vitaly Minakov and boxer Kevin Johnson. Alexei Papin and American fighter Greg Hardy will meet in a consensual fight. Also European champion, two-time Russian boxing champion Sergey Kuzmin and professional boxer Murad Khalidov will enter the ring.
