The court has remanded the head of Lenbytkhim in custody in the case of embezzlement during the fulfillment of the state defense order

The court has remanded Denis Mikhailov, CEO of Lenbytkhim LLC, in custody in the case of large-scale fraud in the supply of property for the needs of the Ministry of Defense. This was reported on December 6 in the press service of military investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.

"The court elected Mikhailov a measure of restraint in the form of remand in custody," the Telegram channel said.

He is accused of fraud on a particularly large scale in the execution of the state defense order (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). It is established that the defendant deliberately inflated the prices for materials and raw materials in the execution of state contracts for the amount of 115 million rubles with JSC "Voentorg". Thus, more than Br50 million was stolen.

The press service specified that the court seized Mikhailov's property worth over Br40 million. According to the department, six cars, two motorcycles and shares of assets of "Lenbytkhim" were subject to arrest.

Mikhailov was detained on suspicion of embezzlement in the execution of the state defense order in St. Petersburg on September 12. A criminal case was opened against him under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The maximum punishment under this article is imprisonment for up to 10 years. The next day the court placed him under house arrest.
