Minsk says guarantees for Belarus on inclusion in Russia's nuclear doctrine

Inclusion in the Russian concept of nuclear security gives Belarus certain guarantees. This was stated by Igor Sergeenko, chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, on December 6, when answering the question of Izvestia.
"It's important, it gives certain guarantees to both Belarus, Russia and the Union State as a whole," said Sergeenko on the margins of the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State in Minsk.
December 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to sign a treaty with Belarus on security guarantees within the Union State. The proposal of the Russian Foreign Ministry was agreed with the interested federal government agencies.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov later said that Moscow and Minsk are in favor of equal security for all. He specified that the agreement on mutual security guarantees between the parties was concluded in the interests of both countries.
