- Putin announced comfortable tariffs for communication between Russia and Belarus from March 1, 2025

The decision to introduce comfortable tariffs for communication services between Russia and Belarus will come into force on March 1, 2025. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 6, while on an official visit to Minsk.
"Today a new decision will be made - on the introduction of comfortable tariffs for the use of communication and data transfer services in the territory of the Union State. The new rules will come into force already from March 1, 2025," Putin said at a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State (SS).
Prior to that, during the meeting, the Russian leader noted that industrial cooperation between Russia and Belarus is built with a focus on import substitution. Putin specified that only 27 import-substituting projects are currently being implemented.
Earlier in the day, Russian President flew to Minsk to hold a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State with Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko. It was specified that the heads of state plan to discuss both bilateral issues and pressing world problems.
Prior to that, November 30, Russian President signed a law, according to which the Russian MTPL policy will apply to the territory of Belarus. Thus, Russian car owners, if desired, will be able to extend MTPL coverage to the territory of Belarus within the framework of the SG insurance system. The law will come into force on January 1, 2025.
