- The meeting of foreign ministers of the Astana format countries on Syria will be held on December 7 in Qatar

Foreign ministers of the countries participating in the Astana format will meet in Qatar on December 7 to discuss the current situation in Syria. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on December 6.
"A ministerial meeting in the Astana format is scheduled for tomorrow in Qatar on the margins of the relevant political science conference, where the delegation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov is now," she told reporters in Yekaterinburg. Her words are quoted by Interfax.
The participants in the Astana format on the situation in Syria are Russia, Turkey and Iran.
Earlier in the day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov pointed to the American trace in the situation with the activation of militants in Syria. He specified that the US "feeds" some Kurdish separatists in the east of the Arab republic using profits from the sale of oil and grain.
The day before, Lavrov told a press conference on the results of the OSCE meeting about the preparation of the Astana format meeting this week. In turn, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarified that Moscow is in constant contact with Damascus amid the worsening situation in Syria.
Russia's Center for Reconciliation of Enemy Parties (CRAP) in Syria reported the same day that the armed forces of both countries had destroyed at least 300 militants with airstrikes over the day. It was also reported that the Syrian army redeployed its forces outside the city of Hama for the safety of civilians.
The situation in Syria escalated on November 28. Then it became known that terrorist groups made a major attack in Aleppo and Idlib and the Syrian army began to repel it.
