- The State Duma discussed the need to accelerate the training of robotics specialists

In order for Russia to become one of the top 25 countries in the world in terms of robotization in five years' time, according to the task set by Russian President Vladimir Putin, it will be necessary to increase the number of annually introduced robots by 10 times. The future of Russian robotics was discussed on December 6 during a round table in the State Duma.
The ambitious task will be realized within the framework of new national projects aimed at achieving technological leadership and sovereignty. Thus, by 2030 should install at least 100 thousand of such industrial assistants.
"We are very much all interested in Russia being a country of modernity, a country of technological leadership, but it is not enough to talk about it, you have to do it with your hands. Today we have seen how both the regulator, industry and education hear each other, pick up, a lot of work is already being done in cooperation, there is open code for both hardware in robots and software, we can definitely do more together," Alexei Nechaev, head of the New People faction in the State Duma, told Izvestia.
The deficit of personnel in robotization was named as a key challenge for the fulfillment of such a task. According to preliminary estimates, this sphere requires 60 thousand specialists. Only 3 thousand robotics masters are trained annually in the country.
In June, speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia should enter the top 25 countries in terms of robotization density in a short period of time. He noted that this means installing more than 100 thousand robots by 2030. Such measures imply a real digital revolution and installation of digital platforms in all key areas.
