"Moskvich" announced the preservation of electric cars amid weak sales

Despite the small sales of the Moskvich 3e model, the automobile plant has no plans to stop its production. This was reported in the press service of the brand, reports "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" on December 6.
"The Moscow Automobile Plant Moskvich is not going to stop production of the Moskvich 3e electric car in 2025," the company said.
In just 11 months of 2024, sales of "Moskvich 3e" amounted to about 1.2 thousand units, representatives of the car plant shared. At the same time, for one November, according to "Avtostat", a total of 2.62 thousand cars of the brand were sold in the Russian Federation.
It is noted that earlier in the Network appeared information on the cessation of production of "Moskvich 3e". Now the model lineup of the capital car plant includes crossovers "Moskvich 3" (from Br1.7 million) and "Moskvich 3e" (from Br3.18 million), as well as a liftback "Moskvich 6" (from Br2.2).
The day before it was reported that the head of Rosneft Igor Sechin said that the demand for electric cars in the West is declining, the boom of interest in them is coming to an end. Now, according to Sechin, the number of electric cars in the world is about 3% of the level needed by 2050. At the same time, there are 1.5 billion cars with internal combustion engines.
On December 3, it became known that the Kaliningrad plant Avtotor will begin production of a small electric car in the II-III quarters of 2025. The first pre-production copies will be produced by the end of 2024 on the basis of the Moscow Polytechnic.
