A student was detained for helping phone scammers in Lesosibirsk

In Lesosibirsk (Krasnoyarsk Territory), police detained an 18-year-old boy who is suspected of taking part in a telephone fraud. The student was moonlighting as a courier.

An 87-year-old pensioner appealed to law enforcement agencies. According to the man, he received a call from a woman who introduced herself as the daughter of the victim. The interlocutor said that she was in a traffic accident, in connection with which she needs financial assistance. The pensioner agreed to transfer with the courier 700 thousand rubles, writes IA KrasnoyarskMedia.

During the check, the police detained an 18-year-old guy from Achinsk. By the time of detention he had managed to deceive pensioners from Kansk and Krasnoyarsk. The total amount of damage amounted to about 1 million rubles.

A criminal case has been initiated on this fact.

In early December, a courier of telephone fraudsters was detained in Mytishchi near Moscow. A 21-year-old man took 600 thousand rubles from a pensioner.
