In Orenburg, criminal investigation officers detained a 21-year-old man, who tried to sell his one-and-a-half-year-old son for Br1.5 million. This was reported in the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (IC RF) on December 6.

"In Orenburg, the 21-year-old figure attempted to sell a child born in 2023 for 1.5 million rubles. Illegal actions of the suspect were suppressed by law enforcement officers," the report says.

According to the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk, the man entered into negotiations with a willing buyer of the child several days ago, while the child's mother is serving a prison sentence.

Criminal investigation officers together with the Rosgvardiya detained the suspect during the transfer of money. He was handed over to the investigative authorities to initiate criminal proceedings. The child was sent to a medical institution, his life is not threatened.

Earlier, on December 6, in St. Petersburg, the surgeon was found guilty in the case of causing harm to a child.
