The AFU lost 232 tanks and 123 armored personnel carriers during the battles in the Kursk direction

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have lost 232 tanks and 123 armored personnel carriers during the fighting in Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on Friday, December 6.

"Over the day the losses of the AFU amounted to more than 250 servicemen. An infantry fighting vehicle, two armored combat vehicles and five vehicles were destroyed," the ministry said.

In addition, air strikes of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) hit the enemy's manpower and equipment in the areas of 12 settlements of Kursk region and six villages of Sumy region.

For the entire period of combat operations in the Kursk direction, the Ukrainian army has lost more than 38,400 troops, 308 artillery pieces, 1,092 vehicles and a large amount of other equipment, including foreign-made.

Earlier in the day, the crew of a Su-34 multirole supersonic fighter-bomber of the Russian Air and Space Forces (AFS) struck a cluster of AFU personnel, armored and vehicle military equipment in the border area of Kursk Region.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The operation to destroy the militants continues.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
