Iran urged Ukraine to stop supplying weapons to terrorists in Syria

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has said that Ukraine should immediately stop supplying US weapons to terrorist groups in Syria. This was reported by the IRNA news agency on December 6.

According to the newspaper, the minister's adviser and head of the Eurasian Department of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Mojtaba Damirchilu, speaking about Ukraine's support for terrorists in Syria, "demanded that these actions be stopped immediately".

Earlier, on December 4, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the escalation in Syria clearly has a "Ukrainian trace" and that there is information about Kiev's cooperation with terrorists. According to her, this is indicated by information about the interaction between the Kiev regime's special services and militants of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham terrorist group (banned in Russia).

At the same time, Russia's permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that Russia strongly condemns the terrorists' sortie in Syria. According to him, the militants are being supported by the United States and its allies, while Ukraine is arming the terrorists with drones and coded GPS modules. On Wednesday, it was also reported that the Syrian Armed Forces killed more than 1,600 militants during the current week.

Before that, in September, the Turkish newspaper Aydınlık noted that representatives of Ukraine met with terrorists of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham on June 18. At the meeting, they, in particular, asked to release several militants from prisons in Idlib in exchange for 75 drones. According to the newspaper, Kiev wanted to reorganize the terrorist groups "for operations against Russia." On September 14, the newspaper published the available footage of the meeting.

Commenting on this publication, Maria Zakharova noted in her Telegram channel that the Kiev regime has been maintaining contacts with terrorists for a long time: involvement in committing terrorist attacks against Russian citizens, exchange of information and technology, and use of "false flag" tactics.
