More than 40% of surveyed Russians reported regular family budget management

Most of the surveyed Russians - 55% - do not keep a family budget or do it on an ad hoc basis. This follows from the results of the research of "VSK Insurance House", which were presented to "Izvestia" on December 6. This trend is especially pronounced among people aged 35-44. At the same time, a common family budget is most often practiced among financially literate couples.

According to experts, on average, more than 44% of Russians regularly keep a family budget. Residents of the Krasnodar region (almost 64% of respondents in this region) and St. Petersburg (50%) keep track of expenses most of all.

Just under 13% of Russians completely refuse from budget planning. These are mostly respondents from the Urals and Siberia. Another 42% of Russians have not decided on their financial behavior and control their spending on an ad hoc basis. This is most typical for residents of the Volgograd region (64%) and Bashkortostan (56%).

In addition, the experts found out that the majority of Russian families - 75% - adhere to the traditional financial model, when a couple has a common budget. Most often, either both spouses (49%) or the wife (21%) are responsible for controlling the family budget.

Most Russians (38%) spend 30% or more of the family budget on food. The purchase of medicines and the cost of medical care most often (for 39% of respondents) costs 6-10% of the budget. For clothing, the main share of Russians (37.5%) spend 6-10% of family income. For 34% of domestic families, 6-10% on average is spent on utility bills. For 28% of survey participants (38% at the beginning of the year), the share of entertainment expenses does not exceed 1-5% of income, for 36.5% this figure is 6-10%, according to the survey results.

In addition, 26% of Russians are ready to save for a rainy day no more than 10% of income, 22% of the surveyed residents of the country - up to 20%.
