Republican Donald Trump, the winner of the US presidential election, on Friday, December 6, appointed investor and former director of financial services company PayPal David O. Sachs to be in charge of the US administration's policy on artificial intelligence (AI) and cryptocurrencies.

"I am pleased to announce that David O. Sachs will become the 'White House AI and Cryptocurrency Czar'. In this important role, David will lead the administration's policy on artificial intelligence and cryptocurrencies, two areas critical to America's future competitiveness," Trump wrote on his Truth Social page.

The president-elect noted that Sachs will focus on providing U.S. leadership in both areas. His tasks will include protecting free speech on the internet and fighting bias and censorship by large tech corporations.

On the cryptocurrency front, Sachs will work on the legal framework of the crypto industry so that the laws that affect it become clearer and the use of cryptocurrencies can "flourish" in the US. In addition, Trump has also entrusted the investor with the post of head of the President's Council on Science and Technology.

Earlier in the day, Reuters reported that Trump nominated former Georgia senator David Perdue to be the US ambassador to China. It is specified that Perdue has experience in business, and the bilateral relations between Beijing and Washington are precisely the trade tensions and deep distrust. In addition, the former senator has lived in Hong Kong for 40 years.

On December 1, the Republican nominated Cash Patel, who was formerly chief of staff to head the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), to head the Pentagon. Trump has indicated that Patel made a significant contribution to the investigation into the influence on the 2016 presidential election, which in the United States is attributed to Russia. The newly elected President believes that under the new head of the FBI "will end the crime epidemic in America".

Prior to that, on November 27, Trump nominated Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg, national security adviser to former US Vice President Mike Pence, to serve as special envoy for Ukraine. The Republican assured that together they will "bring peace through strength and make America and the world safe again."

The election for the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the cessation of military conflicts in the world.
