A follower of the Falun Gong sect arrested in Moscow


Tushino district court of Moscow has sent another follower of the sect "Falun Gong" (the organization is banned in Russia and recognized as extremist) under arrest. This was reported by the press service of the capital's courts of general jurisdiction on December 6.
The defendant Buslov is charged under part 1 of article 284.1 of the Criminal Code ("Participation in the activities of a foreign or international organization, in respect of which a decision has been taken to recognize its activities undesirable in the Russian Federation").
He is remanded in custody until February 3, 2025.
"Falun Gong" is an occult organization founded in China in 1992 by retired military officer Li Hongzhi. The media reports that the cell had a totalitarian character. In 1999, the sect was banned in China because of cases of insanity and suicides of its members and their belief in "miraculous healing."
Earlier, on August 9, in Krasnodar, the court arrested two suspects in the organization of the sect "Falun Gong". The defendants attracted new members to the cell, held meetings and gatherings, and disseminated information.
In May, the court sent Natalia Minenkova, the leader of the Falun Gong sect, a member of the association "Falun Dafa Center for Spiritual and Physical Improvement" (banned in Russia, included by the Ministry of Justice in the register of undesirable NGOs), to arrest. She is accused of organizing the activities of an undesirable organization in the Russian Federation. The criminal case on this fact was initiated on May 3.
