A factory that produced candy named after Mozart has closed in Austria

After 127 years in Austria closed the factory Mirabell, which was engaged in the production of candy, named in honor of composer Wolfgang Mozart. This was reported by the newspaper Kurier on December 6.
The last batch of Mirabell Mozartkugel candies went to the collection container on Thursday, December 5.
"The factory in Grödig near Salzburg is closing after 127 years", - follows from the material.
The further fate of the product remains unknown. The Mondelez Corporation, which holds the rights to the candy, did not comment.
The plant used to produce about 12 tons of sweets per year, but the last processes did not exceed one ton per year. Three products - Mozartkugeln, Mozarttaler and Milkkettes - remained in production until the end of its operation.
On November 30, 2021, it was reported that one of the producers of these candies, the Austrian company Salzburg Schokolade, filed for bankruptcy. At that time it was specified that the reason was the coronavirus pandemic, due to which there was an increase in the costs of raw materials, energy, salaries, logistics costs and packaging materials. As a result of the drop in demand for confectionery, candy stores in Vienna and Salzburg closed for several weeks.
