28 tons of counterfeit alcohol confiscated in Istanbul

Police seized more than 28 tons of counterfeit alcohol in Istanbul. This was reported by Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya on December 6.

It is specified that the market value of confiscated counterfeit alcohol is about 15 million Turkish liras (more than 43.5 million rubles), as well as more than 15 thousand counterfeit parcels.

"The produced counterfeit alcohol was sold in Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara, Antalya and Mugla," the minister wrote on social network X (former Twitter).

Police have detained nine people suspected of making counterfeit alcohol.

Earlier, on September 5, in the Sverdlovsk region found in the underground shop 4 tons of counterfeit alcohol. It was specified that the counterfeit alcohol was bottled in bottles of well-known brands of vodka and cognac.
