In St. Petersburg, a surgeon has been found guilty in a case of rendering services that do not meet safety requirements, which caused serious harm to the health of a child. This was reported on December 6 by the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee (Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee) of the Russian Federation in the city.
It is specified that on March 16 of the current year the man performed a newborn operation for 8 thousand rubles, during which he made mistakes. As a result, the child had blood loss, after which he was hospitalized.
Law enforcement agencies initiated a criminal case on July 22 on the fact of the incident.
"The court verdict imposed on the defendant a punishment in the form of two years of imprisonment conditionally with a probation period of two years and with deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the provision of medical services in the specialty of "surgery" for a period of two years", - stated in the Telegram-channel of the Department.
On the same day it was reported that law enforcement agencies have completed the criminal case against the couple Nikolai and Lilia Nikonov, who provided in Moscow children with cerebral palsy services that do not meet safety requirements. The man, having no specialized medical education and pretending to be a highly qualified specialist, gave a massage course to a child for the sum of 3 million rubles. In turn, his wife also conducted therapeutic sessions.
The couple hid from the investigative authorities. They were charged in absentia. Later, the defendants were found on the territory of Kazakhstan, as a result of which they were detained and extradited to Moscow. The criminal case was referred to the court.
