During winter, nighttime temperatures can take a toll on a vehicle, especially if the car owner has not prepared it for this time of year. Problems may arise with fuel injectors, spark plugs, battery and engine oil. Yulia Trushkova, service director of Rolf, told about it, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports on December 6.

"Proper operation in winter will help the car survive night frosts. But what can be done directly when the car is in the cold for many hours? The simplest advice is parking. But this is not always available. An alternative is a special car blanket. It is resistant to fire and allows you to keep warm under the hood. It is not recommended to use ordinary household blankets," Trushkova said.

When the battery is discharged, the expert recommended not to use the method of "cigarette lightering", as it can harm the electronics, and instead use a special starting charger.

It is also worth buying a starter heater, which will help to start the car not "on cold". In addition, for parking it is better to choose places on high ground, so that moisture does not accumulate under the car, and avoid places where snow removal equipment passes, advised the auto expert.

The day before, auto expert Dmitry Babaev said that one of the most common problems of car owners in winter is a frozen windshield. If electric heating of glass is not provided, you can use folk and professional methods to combat frost and ice.

On December 3, auto expert Valery Antyufiev stated that a number of Citroen, Peugeot, Cadillac, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz crossovers are unable to demonstrate real reliability in harsh Russian winter operating conditions.
