- On December 6, the newspaper "Vechernaya Moskva" celebrates its 101st anniversary

On December 6, the newspaper "Vechernyaya Moskva" turns 101 years old. The day before, a festive event was held in the editorial office. The staff was congratulated by the newspaper's Editor-in-Chief Alexander Kupriyanov and General Director Georgy Rudnitsky. A gift to the newspaper was prepared by students of the Institute of Culture and Arts of the Moscow City Pedagogical University (MGPU).
"This year has been very good for us. The editorial staff has updated the design layout of all printed issues. We increased the circulation of the evening issue to 500 thousand copies," said Alexander Kupriyanov.
He cited data on analyzing the performance of the media holding. Kupriyanov said that almost 30 percent of Muscovites, that is, about three million people, read the print version of the newspaper and visit the website vm.ru.
"At the time of the newspaper's relaunch, we didn't have such impressive figures. But now they are growing persistently. This year we increased the number of newspaper distribution points and signed strategic partnership agreements, " said Georgy Rudnitsky.
Over the years, the publication has made many friends. One of them is Vyacheslav Kiselev, candidate of pedagogical sciences, winner of various professional awards in the field of mass spectacles and events, associate professor at the Institute of Culture and Arts of the Moscow City Pedagogical University. A year ago he directed a holiday in honor of the centennial anniversary of "Vechernyaya Moskva", and this time he prepared a gift for the editorial staff.
The students presented creative numbers dedicated to the history of the capital. In the program, the audience saw the return of soldiers from the Great Patriotic War, the history of constructivism and smiled at jokes about modernity in the format of KVN. In front of the audience danced "subway lines", great writers confessed their love for the city, and an Olympic bear "flew" into the sky.
The first issue of the newspaper "Evening Moscow" saw the light exactly 101 years ago - December 6, 1923. At different times the pages of the publication published famous poets and writers, such as Maxim Gorky, Mikhail Sholokhov, Vladimir Mayakovsky. During all these years "Vecherka" has never suspended printing: even during the Great Patriotic War the newspaper remained the only city edition that did not interrupt its publication for a single day.
